High School Golf National Invitational Recap-
Pinehurst, North Carolina – The High School Golf National Invitational had two Iowa Boys get that invite to compete on June 28-30, 2021 in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Dillon Burr from Marion, Iowa has played in our Iowa PGA Junior Tour and Lucas Gunderson of Harris-Lake Park both competed in the High School Golf National Invitational.
In Burr’s first round he carded a birdie on hole 2 and has bogey’s on holes 5, 6, 8, 9, 14, 15 and 18. Burr’s second round he carded bogeys on holes 2, 3 and 15 including a double bogey on hole 6. Burr’s final round he carded birdies on holes 11 and 17; bogeys on holes 1, 3 and 12 including a double bogey on hole 18. Overall, he finished 48th place with three-day total rounds of 78+77+76=231, +15.
In Gunderson’s first round carded birdies on holes 4, 7 and 10; bogeys on holes 3, 14 and 18 including double bogeys on holes 5, 8, 9, 12 and 15. Gunderson’s second round he carded a birdie on hole 11; bogeys on holes 2, 7, 9, 10 and 15 including double bogeys on holes 6 and 16. Gunderson’s final round he carded bogeys on holes 2, 7, 9, 10, 16 and 18 including double bogeys on holes 1 and 8. Overall, he finished 204th place with a three-day total rounds of 84+81+86=251, +35.
