Iowa PGA Juniors Lead After Round One at Sunnyside CC-
Waterloo, Iowa – The Iowa PGA Junior’s lead the Junior Cup Matches 12 to 4 after day one at the Sunnyside Country Club. These matches are between Iowa PGA and Gateway PGA Junior Golfers. The final round will conclude today with Singles Matches starting at 8:00 AM.
The morning started off with Four-Ball Matches. The Iowa PGA Junior’s won six matches and lead 6 to 2 in the morning. The six matches the Iowa PGA Junior’s won were with Paige Hoffman and Amber Hensen defeating Lucy Trover and Nicole Rallo, 2 up. Ethan Walker and Clayton Phillips defeated Jack Guyot and Malcolm Castle, 4&3. Rylee Heryford and Saffire Sayre defeated Sydni Thurlow and Caroline Boyette, 5&4. Mason Weeks and Jackson Overton defeated William Park and Matthew Politte, 1 up. Addison Berg and Eden Lohrbach defeated Avery McLaughlin and Reese Reinhardt, 5&4. Evan Smith and Owen Howe defeated Dominick Emig and Parker Bruening, 3&2.
Isaiah Zoske and Roman Roth were defeated by Harper Ackermann and Gavin Hagan, 1 up. Morgan Rupp and Saleah Vivanh-Vong were defeated by Kylie Secrest and Eva Brown, 4&3. That heled get the Gateway PGA Juniors 2 points.
The afternoon session featured Foursome (Alternate Shot) matches. The Iowa PGA Junior’s won 6 points and the Gateway PGA Junior’s won 2 points in the Foursome Play.
Paige Hoffman and Clayton Phillips defeated William Park and Sydni Thurlow, 5&4. Amber Hensen and Ethan Walker defeated Malcolm Castle and Caroline Boyette, 3 up. Saffire Sayre and Mason Weeks defeated Matthew Politte and Lucy Trover, 2&1. Rylee Heryford and Jackson Overton defeated Jack Guyot and Nicole Rallo, 6&5. Addison Berg and Evan Smith defeated Dominick Emig and Kylie Secrest, 6&4. The teams of Eden Lohrbach and Isaiah Zoske; Parker Bruening and Avery McLaughlin; Morgan Rupp and Owen Howe and Gavin Hagan and Reese Reinhardt all tied each other.
The team of Saleah Vivanh-Vong and Roman Roth were defeated by Harper Ackermann and Eva Brown, 3&2.
