John Deere Classic Junior Open Round 2 Results

SILVIS, Ill. – The second round of the John Deere Classic Junior Open took place on Tuesday afternoon for all division’s competiting for the Major Point at TPC Deere Run.

The winners of today’s round of the John Deere Classic will be honored at the Pro-Am on Wednesday of the first day of the 2019 John Deere Classic. For more information on this, prestigious event and live scoring click here.

16-18 Boys
Fantastic finish for the group with Urbandale's Nick Pittman edging Hunter Johnson of Ankeny in an additional 2-hole playoff to claim the championship. Although, Johnson fell short he shot the best round of the day carding 2-under-par 69 to finish second. Marion's Dillon Burr finished 10-over-par for the tournament despite leading the field after day one. Burr had the only eagle in the division. 

1st Place: Nick Pittman +1
2nd Place: Hunter Johnson +2
3rd Place: Dillon Burr +10

16-18 Girls
West Des Moines' Paige Hoffman has now posted back-to-back Iowa PGA junior tour wins. Hoffman led the field by 12 strokes and rattled home four birdies to seal the second consecutive victory. A pair of sisters from Wahoo, Nebraska, posted second and third in the two day event. Lindsey Thiele registered the the best round of the day in the division only shooting 2-over-par that featured three birdies. Lauren finished third at 21-over-par despite leading her sister heading into day two. 

1st Place: Paige Hoffman +5
2nd Place: Lindsey Thiele+17
3rd Place: Lauren Thiele +21

14-15 Boys
Pella native, Will Simpson carded back-to-back 5-over-par 76s to win the division. He defeated the field by five strokes and led both days. Grant Greazel of Marshalltown finished in second edging third place finisher Drew Hall of Rock Island who tied Simpson’s second round of 76 on Tuesday afternoon.

1st Place: Will Simpson +10
2nd Place: Grant Greazel +15
3rd Place: Drew Hall +16

14-15 Girls
Madison Moller of Columbia, Missouri, shot a 7-under-par 78 to seal the victory Tuesday afternoon. Moller's 78 was the lowest score of any player in the division. West Des Moines' Saffire Sayre led the field on Monday but dropped shots to Moller to finish second, Sayre finished runner-up with a card of 35-over-par. Rylee Heryford of Newton finished in third by a mere three strokes. 


1st Place: Madison Moller +25
2nd Place: Saffire Sayre +35
3rd Place: Rylee Heryford +38

12-13 Boys
Chance Rinkol of Leawood, Kansas, shot 2-over-par for the tournament winning his division by 22 strokes. Rinkol registered five birdies, the most in his division. Marion's Caden Postma finished second carding 10-over-par and Drew Hansen shot 15-over-par securing third place. 

1st Place: Chance Rinkol +2
2nd Place: Caden Postma +24
3rd Place: Drew Hansen +35

Girls 13-Under
The closest finish of any division between first, second, and third, Ames native Eden Lohrbach claimed the title shooting 51-47 to win by one stroke. A tie for second place between Lauren Briggs of Burlington and Saleah Vivanh-Vong at 28-over-par for the tournament rounded out the the medalists. 

1st Place: Eden Lohrbach +27
2nd Place: Lauren Briggs & Saleah Vivanh-Vong +28

Boys 11-Under
At the end of day one Lucas Laffoon, Issac Rumler, and Pranay Monga were tied for first with all players firing 39s in the opening round. Laffoon came out on top carding a 4-over-par round to claim first place. Rumler finished second shooting 11-over-par and Monga rounded out the top three shooting 13-over par on Tuesday afternoon. 

1st Place: Lucas Laffoon +7
2nd Place: Issac Rumler +11
3rd Place: Pranay Monga +16
