2019 marks the seventh year for the National PGA Drive, Chip & Putt program sponsored by the Masters Foundation, the USGA and The PGA of America. The Iowa Section, along with all other 41 sections, will be continuing to participate in the 2019 National Drive, Chip & Putt program. The Iowa PGA will host 5 local qualifiers for the national program and 1 sub-regional site. Juniors will advance from Iowa’s sub-regional site to Colorado Golf Club in Parker, Colorado on September 8, 2019 for regional qualifying.
This event is open to boys and girls at least 7 years of age and no older than 15 as of April 5, 2020. Boys and girls will compete in separate divisions in 4 age categories: 7-9 years old, 10-11 years old, 12-13 years old and 14-15 years old. Registration for a local will only be available online from March 5 until 5 days prior to each event. Age for 2019 competition will be determined by participant’s age as of April 2020. The Iowa PGA will be hosting two neighborhood local-qualifiers in addition to the four Iowa PGA administered local-qualifiers. These neighborhood qualifiers will be run by the courses PGA Professional and their staff. The finalists from the neighborhood qualifiers will advance to the Sub-Regional Qualifier at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, Iowa. This event will also include the finalists from the Nebraska PGA Section’s three local qualifiers, and will be administered by Iowa PGA Staff. All finalists from the Lakeside Sub-Regional will advance to the Regional at the Colorado Golf Club on September 8th.
