Gateway PGA Juniors Lead After Round One at Geneva G&CC-
Muscatine, Iowa – The Gateway PGA Junior’s lead the Junior Cup Matches 8.5 to 7.5 after day one at the Geneva Golf & Country Club. These matches are between Iowa PGA and Gateway PGA Junior Golfers. The final round will conclude tomorrow with Singles Matches starting at 8:00 AM. Click here, for tee times for final round.
The morning started off with Four-Ball Matches. The Iowa PGA Junior’s won four matches and lead 4.5 to 3.5 in the morning. The four matches the Iowa PGA Junior’s won were with Roman Roth and Sam Wahman defeating Harper Ackerman and Benjamin Rich, 2&1. Easton Korell and Braeden Nelson defeated Samuel Ottwell and Jake Montgomery, 2 up. Chloe Bolte and Ainsley Wilson defeated Ally Suhre and Sara Kolar, 2&1. Parker Rodgers and Lucas Laffoon defeated Ivan Kennedy and Timmy Siebenman, 5&3. The teams of Jackson Buchanan and Cody Weaver and Mukt Patel and Thomas Shuert, all tied each other.
The teams of Ansley Adams and Jane Petersen were defeated by Peyton Cusick and Reese Reinhardt, 3&2. Lauren Briggs and Morgan Rupp were defeated by Annabella Bush and Isabella Buckley, 2&1. Brooklyn Lee and Jaylee Shaffer were defeated by Anna Bell and Morgan Nute, 3&2.
The afternoon session featured Foursome (Alternate Shot) matches.
Reese Reinhardt of the Gateway PGA Juniors had a hole in one on hole number 11. Congratulations Reese!
The Iowa PGA Junior’s won 3 points and the Gateway PGA Junior’s won 5 points in the Foursome Play.
Braeden Nelson and Morgan Rupp defeated Isabella Buckley and Thomas Shuert, 2&1. Chloe Bolte and Cody Weaver defeated Sara Kolar and Mukt Patel, 1 up.
The teams of Lauren Briggs and Roman Roth; Reese Reinhardt and Benjamin Rich; Korell and Petersen; Bush and Montgomery all tied each other.
