Major

These are state/section championship, consisting of highest quality field.  Many of these events will be ranked on Junior Golf Scoreboard and with the American Junior Golf Association.  Iowa PGA Section staff are on site to administer.  Advanced or intermediate level of play is suggested.  Beginners are welcome as long as they can keep up and are comfortable with 9 or 18 holes with skilled golfers.

NEW FOR 2026

Priority Registration:

For 2026 all Major Point events will open on Friday, January 9 at 10 a.m.  Priority registration acceptance window will remain open until Monday, January 19 and will close at 11:59 p.m.   During that acceptance window players who register that meet the criteria will be processed.  After that 7-day priority registration acceptance window, additional players will be processed based on when they registered.

To assist in players understanding who meets registration priority status a box on each Major Point TIP will list those players.

For boys 16-18:
The top 15 players from the 2025 Player of the Year Point List that are still eligible to participate in 2026.

The top 5 from the boys 14-15 2025 Player of the Year Point List that will move up to the boys 16-18 based on age.

For the boys 14-15:
The top 10 from the 2025 Player of the Year Point List.

The top 3 from the boys 12-13 2025 Player of the Point list that will move up to the boys 14-15 based on age.

All other divisions will continue to be processed in a first come first serve basis.
