Meet the Iowa PGA Summer Interns-
Riverside, Iowa- Emily Knoche is our first Tournament Intern for the 2023 Season. She is currently attending Dordt University, majoring in Business Administration Management. She’s looking forward to this great opportunity to build her understanding of how tournaments work as well as to improve her skills in customer service. She has worked for Pleasant Valley Golf Course under PGA Professional Tom Hein for the last five summers. Golf has been a big part of her life since her freshman year of high school.
Luke Wade is our second Tournament Intern for the season. Wade is currently attending The University of Iowa, majoring in Sport and Recreation Management and will graduate in May 2024. Wade is excited for this opportunity to work for a Professional Sports Association. This November he started a new position with the University of Iowa Athletics Department as an Event Management Gameday Assistant. This position will give him experience running small- and large-scale sporting events in a team setting.
Lucas Russell is our third Tournament Intern for the season. Russell is currently attending The University of Iowa, majoring in Sport and Recreation Management and will graduate in December 2023. He is thrilled to work in his home state and around a game that has impacted his life in such a positive way.
Hunter Rickels is our final Tournament Intern for the season. Rickels is currently attending Loras College, majoring in Sports Management and Psychology and will graduate in May 2024. Rickels golf casually when he has time.
The Iowa PGA is excited to have Emily, Luke, Lucas and Hunter as part of the 2023 golf season and look forward to getting to know each of them.
