Team Iowa 54-Hole Recap of Boys PGA High School National Invitational-
Pinehurst, North Carolina – Iowa was represented by Bennett Dolter, Callan Martineau, Connor Walsh, Henry Thier, Jonah Oberfoell, Anthony Galvin and Bock Mueller all competed in the PGA High School National Invitational at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, North Carolina on July 20-22, 2025.
The courses that were competed on for all days were Pinehurst #5, #6 and #8.
Team Iowa (WLT)
Team Iowa (WLT) placed T27th overall (312-303-306=921, 57-over-par) to represent the state of Iowa down at Pinehurst North Carolina.
Dolter’s first round (July 20) he carded birdies on holes 5, 7 and 12 including bogeys on holes 3, 4, 9, 10, 13, 14 and 17. Dolter’s second round (July 21) he carded birdies on holes 1, 2, 6, 10, 11 and 15; bogeys on holes 4, 5, 12, 13 and 17 including a double bogey on hole 18. Dolter’s final round (July 22) he carded birdies on holes 10, 13 and 14; bogeys on holes 3, 7, 9 and 18 including a double bogey on hole 16. His 54-Hole total 76-74-75=225, 9-over-par and placed T97th overall.
Thier’s first round (July 20) he carded birdies on holes 16 and 17 including bogeys on holes 1, 3, 4, 8 and 11. Thier’s second round (July 21) he carded a birdie on hole 2; bogeys on holes 1, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11 and 13 including a double bogey on hole 14. Thier’s final round (July 22) he carded a birdie on hole 8; bogeys on holes 2, 9 and 12 including a double bogey on hole 6. His 54-Hole total 75-81-76=232, 16-over-par and placed T50th overall.
Martineau’s first round (July 20) he carded birdies on holes 12 and 17; bogeys on holes 6, 7 and 14 including double bogeys on holes 1, 3 and 16. Martineau’s second round (July 21) he carded birdies on holes 12 and 13; bogeys on holes 3, 9, 10 and 14 including double bogeys on holes 15 and 18. Martineau’s final round (July 22) he carded a birdie on hole 11; bogeys on holes 1, 2, 5, 8, 9, 13, 14 and 15 including a double bogey on hole 16. His 54-Hole total 80-79-81=240, 24-over-par and placed him T201st overall.
Walsh’s first round (July 20) he carded birdies on holes 5 and 17; bogeys on holes 4, 9, 12, 13 and 15 including double bogeys on holes 6, 7 and 18. Walsh’s second round (July 21) he carded birdies on holes 1, 7, 8, 12 and 15; bogeys on holes 5, 6 and 17 including a double bogey on hole 16. His 36-Hole total 81-72-NC=153.
Oberfoell’s first round (July 20) he carded bogeys on holes 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 14 and 16 including a double bogey on hole 10. Oberfoell’s final round (July 22) he carded birdies on holes 2, 5, 6, 10 and 12; bogeys on holes 7, 8, 13 and 14 including a double bogey on hole 15. His 36-Hole total 82-NC-74=156.
Mueller substituted in for Oberfoell Tuesday and Walsh on Wednesday.
Mueller’s first round (July 21) he carded a birdie on hole 8; bogeys on holes 4, 17 and 18. Mueller’s final round (July 22) he carded birdies on holes 2, 14 and 17; bogeys on holes 1, 9, 13 and 18 including double bogeys on holes 10 and 15. His 36-Hole total 78-81=159.
Individual
Galvin’s first round (July 20) he carded a birdie on hole 2; bogeys on holes 7 and 18 including double bogey on hole 13. Galvin’s second round (July 21) he carded birdies on holes 2, 7 and 17; bogeys on holes 3, 5, 6 and 13. Galvin’s final round (July 22) he carded birdies on holes 6 and 15; bogeys on holes 8, 9, 11 and 14 including a double bogey on hole 12. His 54-Hole total 76-75-76=227, 11-over-par and placed T117th overall.
