Special Announcements
- Riverside, Iowa – Alex Schaake of Omaha, Nebraska is the 90th Iowa Open Champion presented by Riverside Casino and Golf Resort on Sunday, August 6 at Blue Top Ridge at Riverside. Schaake’s 3-day total was 66-62-67=195, -21. Schaake’s final round included birdies on holes 4, 5, 10, 14 and 15; an eagle on hole 12 including bogeys on holes 1 and 17 as he fired a 5-under-par round of 67. This was Schaake’s first professional win. Click here for results.
- Hot Springs, Arkansas – The Iowa PGA had four junior golfers that competed in the Junior PGA Championship hosted by Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Arkansas on August 1-4, 2023. Luke Harwick of Dyersville, Iowa, Braeden Nelson of West Des Moines, Iowa, Maura Peters of Bettendorf, Iowa and Addison Berg of Swisher, Iowa all compete in the 47th Iowa Boys and Girls Junior PGA Championship. - Quad Cities – The Iowa PGA and Genesis Health Systems conducted a Pro-Am fundraiser at Davenport Country Club in Pleasant Valley, Iowa and TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois on Monday, August 7. Click here for results.
- Riverside, Iowa – The Iowa PGA hosted the fifth Annual Iowa Junior Open 18-Hole on August 7-8 at Blue Top Ridge. This event is held in conjunction with the 2023 Iowa Open, which is the premier Professional Golf event in the State of Iowa. Due to the rain delay the play was changed to 9-hole from 18-hole. The Champion of the 16-18 Boys Divisions, defending champ Jack McCarty from Solon, Iowa (-3) will receive a complimentary entry in the Amateur Division in the 2024 Iowa Open. Click here for results.
